RIP Jeff Dye

Recently  a very close friend of mine passed away. He was an amazing person that also helped make Sell Out Clothing what it is today. Here is a message from his family:

"We are Jeff's parents. Our daughter, Jeff's sister, introduced us to this tribute. The wall posts and entries have been a source of immeasurable comfort to us as we, too, loved him unconditionally. As you can imagine we are shattered and heartbroken over Jeff's death. He was the sunshine of our lives and we miss him every moment of every tear stained day. For us to have any hope of a normal life, we must keep Jeff 's spirit alive. We want no more children being claimed by suicide and no more devastated, heartbroken parents and siblings.

To that end our family has established the Jeffrey Allen Dye Suicide Prevention Project. It is our goal to fight against suicide for the rest of our lives. We intend to raise funds so that the warning signs of suicide and ways to effectively respond are clear and automatic to everyone. If friends would recognize, listen and respond when suicidal thoughts are conveyed, we could save the lives of those in emotional pain.

There is a link at the above site where you can feel free to donate money to this excellent cause. I myself have been thinking quite a bit about how I could help this amazing project and began designing a shirt that I think would really sum up Jeff's life. This shirt will be on sale shortly and I have decided to contribute not only 50% of the profit from this shirt to The Jeffery Allen Dye Suicide Prevention Project but to also contribute 10% of all other sales over the next year to The Jeffery Allen Dye Suicide Prevention Project as well!

It's Been Awhile

The last few months of my life have been crazy! I am still working hard and churning out new designs but I recently had to sit down and prioritize my life. I have finally started school. Something that I have wanted to do ever since ending my high school career a little early. I am majoring in a field that I truly love and I believe that it is the best program and school for me. So what is this degree? Design Management...yea I know...What the hell does that mean!?! Well I don't really know yet. What I can say is that I will be getting an overview of several design areas as well as a strong education in marketing and business.

I also have a new home! Me and Steve are going to be moving into a very spacious two bedroom apartment in Whisper Creek.

My New Home :)

A day I have been planning for awhile...

So I have finally done something that I have been talking about since I started Sell Out Clothing. I got my tattoo...This tattoo represents so much more to me than just my companies logo...It represents the fight that me and my closest friends have gone through lately and how we have risen above like stars...

So without further ado

First Local Celebrity Interview: Steve AKA "Zumiez Guy"

So here at Sell Out we want to know all about the most fascinating people here in CO and we thought why not start with our very own Steve AKA "Zumiez Guy". Many may know him from Zumiez (southwest plaza) or have most likely ran into him at a local concert. Yeah you remember now, that funny guy that came up and and shoved a french fry up his nose while you were enjoying your Wendy's. He is crazy and yet the coolest guy around these parts. I have learned many a thing from Stevie V...anyways enough mushy stuff here is what you really wanted to know!

Also Check Out Steve's Myspace: Click Me

Side Note: We want to know who you think should be the next "Local Celeb". Send your suggestions to localceleb@selloutclothing.com

What makes you a “local celebrity”?
well people here know me. people in Los Angeles don't. I can go pretty much anywhere in the Denver area and run into somebody i know, but once im in New York ive got nothin

Have you ever crashed any weddings?
Not successfully yet. (this portion is to be continued)

What are your future plans?
Ive got 3 years of school left. thats all so far

Where is your favorite place to hang out in Colorado?
Downtown Denver. Theres lots of things to laugh at down there

Where were you born?
Englehood

Do you see yourself as a Colorado celebrity?
not to sound conceited, but yea. At least with our generation i do. Theres so many people who's names i don't know but know my middle name. Its kinda crazy at sometimes and i feel dumb for not knowing who they are.

What is your most important accomplishment to date?
well. i beat guitar hero the other day. i guess that or graduating.

What are your top 3 favorite bands?
Brand New
Chiodos
and hmm.
right now probably Say Anything
Im also really fond of a new local band called Breathe Carolina. Check them out, theyre amazing.

Are you good at baking?
I can cook frozen pizzas.

Many say your middle name is Zumiez, is this true?
No. I might kill my parents if it were, but it might as well be. Some know me by my name, and most know me by "Zumiez guy."

In your opinion, what is the best concert venue in CO?
Probably the Marquis theater. Its so small and intimate. You're right next to the bands playing and the sound quality is awesome. The only thing is that only the smaller bands will play there.

What is your favorite clothing line...besides Sell Out?
Umm. Probably Krew, or there is another small line call RZST. but sell out.

Have you ever visited Kazakhstan?
No, but i can do one hell of a Borat impression. Just like everyone else.

What is your favorite place to eat at?
By far the local Tommy's subs. Mmm. Grub. Chain wise i have to go with Chipotle.

We are very excited to have you as a guest writer! Any ideas of what your first review will be on?
Probably a concert. i go to alot of those. Maybe a party Freeman throws.

Any last words?
sorry about all the typing errors. and thank you for having me as part of the team

Some Thanks

There is a lot of work that has gone into the designs for the new Spring/Summer 2007 line. I would like to thank Brittney Moran for all her help and support. She has also helped me put together much of the clothing displayed here. Sell Out could never be what it is today without the support and hard work/dedication of people like her. She has braught aboard a new kind of artistic outlook that is greatly appreciated by myself and ever since seeing her first Sell Out scribble I knew that I had to include her images in our clothing line. I hope you enjoy the new line (dont worry more to come still) and I will be posting some original artwork soon as well. I cannot wait to have these items available to all of you.
